PROGRAMME

The final programme has been placed on this website. Please check it for information about both the technical and social activities.

All contributed papers ( i.e. except the invited keynote papers) will be presented by poster. This is the practice adopted by the International Heat Transfer Conferences* and by many others - for example, the 3rd European Thermal Sciences Conference (Heidelberg 2000). It is, in fact, a far better way to obtain good interaction between authors and audience. Guidance in the preparation of posters may be found on this web site.

Each day's posters should be erected before 8.30 am and left in place for the full day. Authors are required to be at their posters during the relevant (morning or afternoon) session for discussions with delegates.

Several authors have told us that they wish to show videos or computer-generated animations. We will have a special session for such presentations (which will be in addition to the respective poster presentations). We would like ALL such authors to inform us of the length of their "movies" so that we can allocate adequate time, and also the audio-visual equipment they will require. Please see the audio-visual page.

All technical sessions - keynote and invited lectures and poster presentations - will take place in the Novotel Conference Centre between Monday morning May 21 and Friday afternoon May 25. Wednesday afternoon May 23 will be free for a tour (see the Tours and Social page).

Registration will commence on the afternoon of Sunday May 20. An informal social get-together that evening will allow early arrivals to meet. A welcome reception will take place on Monday evening, May 21. The symposium banquet will be held on Thursday evening, May 24.

* Plan ahead! IHTC-12 will be held in Grenoble, France, on August 18-23, 2002.
And IHTC-13 will take place in Sydney, Australia in August 2006.
